Introducing Miss Emerson Mae

A girl named "Emerson"

I don't feel like I "picked" Eme's name, rather I think I was told, in a way that I just couldn't ignore, that this is what it was supposed to be. For those of you who aren't spiritually inclined I am sure it sounds silly, but I do believe that we exist before we come to this earth, that we live with God, our Heavenly Father, that we are his spirit children, and that as our father, He knows us. And so it was, with our little Miss Emerson, I didn't know she was coming to us, but HE did. And He let me know in undeniable ways that our next child would be Emerson...and strangely enough, a girl (because I wouldn't have named a son Emerson. lol).

"Mae"

My maternal grandmother's name: Beautiful, classy, loving, and artistic, I hope Eme will be honored to be named after my "Granny Strickland"

Party of 4 (and believe me, it is already a par-tay)

Evan is taking her role as "Big Sis" very seriously. In fact, when we were getting set to leave the hospital, the nurse came in and took a barcode off Eme's leg. It had been taped on, so she ripped it quick to minimize the discomfort, but Eme still let out a blood curdling scream. And Evy with an aggressive snarl on her face yelled at the nurse, "HEY! YOU HURT MY SISTER!" We had to reassure her that it was okay...but Evan was really upset and alarmed. I hope she will keep that resistance to causing Eme to cry...I know it's unlikely.

Yeah, Eme. With a sister and a Papa with these kind of wild eyes & correspondingly wild plans, you have a reason to be alarmed. I have an idea of what they are going to put you through...

Make yourself comfortable, you are going to be spending quite some time in here.

Uh oh, not a natural road tripper? I thought it was in the genes.

Off we go on our next big adventure. So far, we're loving it.
